Pear and Gorgonzola Pizza!

I have always loved the Pear and Gorganzola pizza at California Pizza Kitchen. I am usually such a picky eater and this seemed a little off from my norm but I decided since I love it so much I would make it at home. It turned out AMAZINGLY good! Even though I couldn't get the husband to eat it. He made his own "Man Pizza" with red sauce and meats.

Recipe
* 1 (16 ounce) package refrigerated pizza crust dough
* 4 ounces sliced provolone cheese
* 1 Bosc pear, thinly sliced
* 2 ounces chopped walnuts
* 2 1/2 ounces Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
* 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
2. Place pizza crust dough on a medium baking sheet. Layer with Provolone cheese. Top cheese with Bosc pear slices. Sprinkle with walnuts and Gorgonzola cheese.
3. Bake in the preheated oven 8 to 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and crust is lightly browned. Remove from heat. Top with chives and slice to serve.

December!

December has been great. We had two awesome weekends in the Keys with my family (the weekend before Christmas and Christmas Eve to Christmas day).

The first weekend we went to give my parents a nice dinner from the "kids" (Ash, Bran and me). We got to my parents house on Friday around noon and got all the dogs and bags packed into the car which was a bit of a mission since it was raining. Then we drove to the Keys and decided to go to a movie. We saw the Blind Side which was amazing! It is officially my new favorite movie. Then we ran to the car in the pouring ran and flooded streets and headed to dinner at Encore, Mom and Dad's favorite restaurant. It was fun, we sat at the piano table and played moraca's along with the piano guy. Then we went home.
The next day Ash woke Bran and I up to come see three manatees at our dock! It was so cool. Of all the years I have gone to the Keys I have yet to see manatees close up like that. I saw them at a dock once when I was younger but didn't get to get close. We used the hose to "rub" their bellies. It was a Mom and her two babies. It was so amazing to see. They are such beautiful animals. So gentle and friendly.
Then after we got dressed we went to a store Ashley went to when she was younger and it was really cute then to another store that had a bunch of flags and things flying around outside. Branden and I were on a mission to get an ornament since this was our first Christmas married and we were spending it in the Keys. We found it at that store and it is a Santa riding a dolphin. It is really funny. Then we went home and poor Mom still didn't feel good but we went to dinner in hopes she would feel a big better. We are at Bayside Cafe which overlooks the Bay and it was cold so luckily they had the glass doors shut. The food was yummy but Mom was still sick so we had to go home. Then we watched a movie outside on the side of the house and Dave and Diana came over. We watched the Proposal but didn't actually watch much of it. It was more of a talking session. Then we went to bed and headed home the next day. It was a nice trip. Everyone got along and it was just relaxing.
Then we went their for Christmas Eve and Dustin and his family came down and so did our roommate Kelly. We did the game where everyone brings something (we just did gift cards) and then you pick one and then someone else can steal it. That was pretty fun and then we all just hung out and talked for awhile. Mom and Dad got us money for a honeymoon! We were very excited and grateful. We aren't sure if we will use it right away since we are going to North Carolina in March and then Michigan in July. I really want to go on a cruise so we will see. Maybe we will go on a short one.
Then Christmas day Branden and I came home and did our own little Christmas together which was really nice. I got him a Wii look alike lol and he got me a hammock, which I have always wanted! I love it. Then we got eachother a bunch of other little things. After that we got changed and went to dinner at Coco Beach at the Oasis and saw Avatar in 3D. It was pretty good except the middle was slow.
Not to much else has been going on except Anna came down and it's been awesome seeing her. I love hanging out with her. We always have a good time together. I will post pictures ASAP.

Start of the Holiday's!

Thanksgiving is gone and Christmas will be here before you know it. I love this time of year but then again who doesn't? We have already decorated our first Christmas tree together and it looks great. We still need a tree topper though. It was a fun night when we decorated. We first went to Petco and brought the dogs to the store with us and bought their Christmas presents. Then we came home and baked cookies, watched a funny Christmas movie and decorated the tree together. Just us. It was great.

Thanksgiving was nice. We went to my Mom's and she cooked and my cousin's and uncle came over as well as my sister and two of our friends. The best part was throwing the football around with my Dad and Branden.

On to some Holiday Savings! Right now and only today JCPenny online is selling a game system like Wii for only $8.99, originally $89.99. I went ahead and ordered it, I figured if it isn't the greatest then it was only $8.99 but it got pretty great reviews so I am looking forward to getting it and wrapping it up for Branden for Christmas. It is only for today so go order it! CLICK HERE!

New Moon!

Last night I actually went and saw New Moon. It was really good. I am not a hardcore Twilight fan so I haven't read any books. I hated the first movie as well but I could tell the second was more my speed. It wasn't exactly a love story like the first. It was more action packed and I like that more then the slow pace the first one took.

Overall I would see it again, not right away, but when it comes out on DVD I would rent it.

We got our Christmas Cards!

I am so excited. I went outside to go to my Mom's and a package was sitting there and it was for me! It is our Christmas cards that we got free! They turned out great and the picture is on them which I was worried about.

Another cool freebie I found was 2 free issues of Family Circle. Just fill out your information and you get the issues for March and April 2010.
